Fundraising

THERE will be a fundraising event and an auction in aid of Cancer Research on Friday, 23 February, at the Porth Hotel at 7.30pm.

Library

IT has been decided that volunteers will take over the running of the library.

There will be a meeting for volunteers on 1 March and then a special opening on Saturday, 3 March, at 11.30am.

Clwb Croeso

AFTER the Christmas break, the club reconvened on Tuesday, 13 February, at 2pm at the Porth Hotel.

The chairman, Mary Williams, welcomed everyone to the meeting and after the business of the day was discussed, introduced the speaker for the afternoon, Sara Edwards, Lord Lieutenant of Dyfed.

Sara spoke about her duties and her role as Lord Lieutenant, which everyone found to be very interesting and enjoyable to listen to.

A vote of thanks was given by Megan Foulkes and after refreshments the meeting was then closed.

There were 32 members present.

History Club

THE next meeting will be on Wednesday, 28 February, at Tysul Hall at 7.15pm.

It will be a talk by Mike Lewis on Will James of Dinas, the only Welshman killed at Custer’s Last Stand.
