PRESIDENT Jan Spicer opened the meeting on 9 September.

Forthcoming events of interest are the treasure hunt on 23 September, bingo on 28 October, both at Dolgellau Rugby Club, and team darts on 17 October at Bala Golf Club.

Letters of thanks have been received from Ardudwy Leisure for our help in making bunting for Rock Ardudwy. This can now be borrowed. Harlech Horticultural Club thanked Llanfair for the donation and will decide how to spend it at their next meeting.

Two Food Waste Campaign questionnaires have been received. Pauline offered to complete these.

The Rose Bowl group set up their display on the theme of ‘Space’, originally intended for the WI section of the county show, which was cancelled.

Linda Hurst gave a most interesting talk on ‘Living with Goats’, explaining how she and her husband had assisted on their friends’ farm during their holidays for 10 years, eventually taking over the business.

After many questions from members, Mrs Hughes was warmly thanked for her detailed, illustrated talk. The competition was won by Sue Travis and the raffle by Jean Batten.

Next meeting: Get Creative with Clay, 14 October. Please bring an apron and lace or item with texture to emboss the clay.
