MEMBERS met on 3 May at Ysgol y Dderi with Gwen Lewis presiding.

The guest speaker was Tim Newly, the head gardener of Llanerchaeron.

He gave an interesting and informative illustrated talk on the history and development of the gardens and how the produce must be sold to cover the cost of the gardens’ maintenance.

He was warmly thanked for such a pleasant historical informative hour by Raymond Farrow.

The raffle winners were Alan Baker, Janet Farrow, Tim Newly, Peter Cornelious, Mair Spate, Betty Lockyer, Maureen Morgan, Maisie Morgans, Sally Davies and Ethel McLaughlin.

The next meeting will be the annual outing on 7 June to visit the Prisoner of War chapel at Henllan and the Woollen Mill at Felindre.

Lunch will be at the Red Lion, Felindre.

Names need to be given to the organiser by 1 June.
