Rotary Club

THE Rotary Across Wales Walk (RAWW) stretches 42 miles from the Welsh coast to English border covering some of the most stunning countryside Wales has got to offer.

Newtown, Llanidloes and Machynlleth Rotary Clubs combine their efforts to ensure entrants are supported fully along the route with regular checkpoints and refreshments.

Last year the Rotary were able to donate £2000 to the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Hospital and estimated that the combined effort of the walkers totalled in excess of £25,000 to a variety of charities.

To ensure the walk caters for all, the organisers have created a number of start points ranging from an eight-mile route ideal for families, up to a 16-mile and 26-mile start point and for the more adventurous the full 42 mile walk.

This year’s walk which is in aid of Kidney Wales, takes place on Saturday, 23 June.

Walkers can enter online via SiEntries (Rotary Across Wales Walk) or by post to RAWW c/o Llani Leisure, 16-17 Long Bridge St, Llanidloes, Powys SY18 6EE.

Entry fees range from as little as £7 to £45 and is free for children walking the last eight miles accompanied by an adult.

Every walker regardless of distance will be rewarded a free event T-shirt on crossing the finish in recognition of their efforts.
