A MEETING will be held to discuss the future of the society this Wednesday, 20 March, at 7.30pm in St Idloes Church Hall.

All those with an interest in history and heritage are welcome.

Llanidloes In Bloom

LLANIDLOES Town Council has announced that there is a hanging basket/ planter competition for the town centre to include Great Oak Street, Longbridge Street, Shortbridge Street, China Street and High Street.

Exhibits to be displayed from 1 June to 31 August. Arrangements will be judged on Saturday, 27 July.

Prizes will be a commemorative plaque and £50.

Neighbourhood Policing

THE local Neighbourhood policing team will hold a community event in Chatswood, Longbridge Street on Thursday, 21 March. The theme will be ‘Drugs and County Lines’ and several partner agencies will also be in attendance.

Gardening club

THE Llanidloes Gardening Club is meeting in the Elephant Inn, Longbridge Street at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 26 March.

The speaker is Simon Baynes of the Bodfach Trust who will talk about the trust’s charitable work in mid Wales with particular reference to the Welsh historic gardens.

Visitors for the evening are welcome.

Guide dogs

TAKE your owner on a 6km walk in aid of guide dogs on Saturday, 27 April, from Kennel Field, starting at 10am.

Entry is just £5 on the day. Sponsor forms are available to help raise even more funds for guide dogs.

All dogs who complete the walk will get a treat and a rosette for taking part.

There will be a map and directions to follow and doggy drink stops on the way. The route is on public roads and footpaths so it would be best if dogs were on a lead.
