THE Easter Story in song and narrative, performed by the Wesley Singers, with conductor Stella Gratrix, narrator Coris Evans, and accompanist Barbara Powell, is on Friday, 12 April, at 7pm, at the Baptist Chapel, Shortbridge Street.

Gardening Club

LLANIDLOES Gardening Club is holding its annual Easter Flower Exhibition on Saturday, 20 April outside the Elephant Inn, Longbridge Street.

There will be a lovely display of spring flowers and bulbs put together by the gardeners, as well as plants, cut flowers, cakes, jams and chutneys to buy for your Easter treats.

You can also try your luck at the tombola. The event runs from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

Coffee morning

LLANIDLOES Masonic Lodge will be holding a coffee morning to raise funds for a defibrillator for public use, on Saturday, 27April from 10am till noon at Chatwood House, Longbridge Street.

Entry £1. The defibrillator will be put on the outside of the Masonic Lodge and available to the public if needed.

Chartists 180

ON Saturday, 27 April from noon till 12.30am, meet at the Town Hall for the Chartist History Tour with guides and street musicians.

At 3pm at the Old Mill, ‘Is Chartism still Relevant?’ with speakers Steve Hedley, of the RMT Trade Union, Cllr Elwyn Vaughan, and Cllr Gareth Morgan.

Then at 7.30pm at The Old Mill, folk night and ceilidh, free entry with performances by Tinc y Tannau, Rapsquilion and Brenig, sponsored by Llanidloes Town Council.

Ladies Lunch

LLANIDLOES Ladies Lunch committee would like to thank all ladies who attended the event at the Rugby Club in February.

Another successful and fun filled day that raised a total of £1,200, which will be shared between ‘Enable’ and Llanidloes St John’s in memory of Irene Crowther.

The committee would also like to say a big thank you to all local business that donated raffle/ auction prizes, Elaine Jones, the Rugby Club and Just Deb for the entertainment.
