Idloes Seniors
THE next meeting takes place on Thursday, 15 September, 2pm at St Idloes Church Hall. New members welcome.
Quiz
AT 7.30pm on 16 September, at Llanidloes Rugby Football Club, teams of up to 10 people for a pub quiz with a twist. Also includes Cardiff-based live cover band, the Lanyards, and raffle.
Entry fee £5 (to raise money for a cancer patients by sponsoring a climb of Kilimanjaro) available on the door or in advance (Sarah Lynn on 07717 785098).
Coffee morning
A COFFEE morning arranged by CYTUN, (Churches Together in Llanidloes) in aid of refugees will take place at Chatwood, Longbridge Street, on Saturday, 24 September, 10.30am-12pm.
Choir concert
CANTARE Chamber Choir perform on Saturday, 24 September, St Idloes Church at 7.30pm, arranged by Llanidloes Music and Arts Club. Entry fee on the door, or pay £20 membership and get the first four concerts free.
Maesywennol
THERE will be a fete at Maesywennol Residential Home on Saturday, 24 September at 2pm. All welcome.
On 31 October, 6.30pm, is a Halloween and cheese and wine evening with singer Carol Rhys-Jones. Tickets available from Maesywennol.
Only Legs Aloud
ON Friday, 22 July, 14 volunteers from the Only Legs Aloud Club enjoyed an evening out, arranged by Lindy for the volunteer’s dedication in the running of the Leg Club every Thursday morning at the Van Institute, 8.30am-11.30am.
Great thanks to Lindy for providing venue and such an enjoyable evening and Alan Deakin, chairman of Legs Aloud and the drivers responsible for safe transport.
Church organ marathon
ANN Bryan is doing a sponsored organ playing for the Fire Service on Wednesday, 28 September, St Idloes Church, 12pm-3pm. The public are welcome.
Book signing
DR David Stephenson will talk about and sign his new book, ‘Medieval Powys- Kingdom, Principality and Lordships 1132-1293’ at the Great Oak Bookshop, Friday, 16 September, 7.30pm. Refreshments provided.
Bingo
BINGO on Wednesday, 14 September at the Rugby Club. Doors open 7.30pm, 50p entry for adults includes tea/coffee and biscuit, in aid of the Royal Air Forces Association.
Talk
‘TOTALLY Tucked, Twiddled and Magically Manipulated’ by Jenny Rayment, concerning craftwork with textiles, at the Minerva Arts Centre, High Street, Wednesday, 21 September, 2pm.
Organised by Welsh Heritage Quilters, admission £2 for non-members.
