Refugee Concert
LLANIDLOES and Mid Wales Refugee Support Group present a Refugee Benefit Night on Friday, 9 December, at the Old Mill.Live music from 6.30pm till midnight.
Poppy Appeal
THIS year Llanidloes and District raised £3709.03 for the Poppy Ap-peal. Llanidloes Army Cadets youngsters collected a grand total of £387.11.
Christmas Concert
THERE is a Christmas Concert at Llanidloes High School at 7pm on 8 December. The MC is Jamie Jones, entrance costs £8. Acts include the High School Band, Primary School Choir, Jonathan Harries, Roland and Ian Davies, the Wesley Singers and Debbie Peck. Proceeds go to Llanidloes High School, Crocodocodile Playgroup and Llanidloes Dial A Ride. The event is organised by Llanidloes Town Council.
Award
GLYN Davies MP recently presented an award, given from Birmingham children’s hospital, to Woosnam & Davies News of Llanidloes.The award was for recognition for their long-standing support and generous donations given over 15 years.Trudy Davies said the award was a total surprise and it’s only through the great local support from their lovely customers that they have been able to support the hospital over this many years.
Rotary Club
EVERY August Llanidloes Rotary Club sponsors at least one Llanidloes Student on the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA).This annual course started over 50 years ago and is run by Rotary Clubs Worldwide.Our recent student, Abigail Roberts recently presented a slide show to Llanidloes Rotary Club outlining her achievements on the 2016 course.The principle aims of RYLA is to provide an effective training experience for selected young people and potential leaders, to encourage leadership qualities and to recognize publicly young people who are rendering service to their communities. Our areas event takes the format of an activity training course for selected young people aged 16 to 18 at the Arthog Activity Centre near Barmouth.
