Rotary Club
THE club recently conducted a business meeting at The Red Lion Hotel. The club is in the final stages of planning for the Wales Rally GB which comes to the area at the end of October. Rotarian John Cradduck has spent many hours behind the scenes ensuring the vast marshalling system is covered. Llanidloes Rotarians, plus friends of Rotary, will take to Hafren forest on Thursday, 26 October and manage the entry and car parking of all Hafren spectators up until late on the Friday. Anyone local who would like to help out at the rally can still contact John Cradduck for further information. The club also discussed its annual bonfire and firework display which will take place on Saturday, 4 November at the Kennel Fields. This year’s event is sponsored by local estate and letting agents, Morris Marshall & Poole and by the town’s leisure and outward bound shop Llani Leisure. Anyone from the community who wishes to add to the bonfire by disposing of any unwanted wood and paper should contact Rotarian Ivan Evans to confirm the items are suitable.
As usual the club will put on hot food and drinks and ask that spectators refrain from bringing their own fireworks and sparklers as these will not be covered by the Rotary insurance.
