Meeting

LLANIDLOES mayor, Cllr Janet Crisp, has asked the public to attend a meeting at the Council Chamber of the Town Hall on Monday, 30 April at 7.30pm to finding ways to put Llanidloes on the map again.

Coffee Morning

THE coffee morning for Great Ormond St Hospital at Chatwood on Saturday, 7 April, managed to raise £550.

Peter and Ena Lymer wish to thank everyone for this achievement.

Music and Arts Club

THERE will be a concert with Castalia String Trio on Friday, 20 April at 7.30pm at Trinity Church in Shortbridge Street.

All welcome, entrance £6, students £2, members free.

Bingo

AT the rugby club on Wednesday, 25 April, in aid of Llanidloes Leg Club.

Starts 7.30pm, entry 50p, includes tea/coffee and biscuit.

Gardening Club

THE Llanidloes and District Gardening Club is holding its Spring Flower Exhibition on Saturday, 21 April outside the Elephant Inn, Longbridge Street, from 9.30am to 12.30pm.

There will be an exhibition of spring flower arrangements, a cake and provisions stall, a plant stall and a raffle.

They also have their monthly evening meeting at the Elephant Inn on Tuesday, 24 April, with guest speaker Emma Maxwell, who will be giving tips on fruit growing.

Talk

JONATHAN Rosenhead will deliver a talk at Chatwood, 6 Longbridge Street, on Thursday, 19 April, 7.30pm.

He is chair of the British Committee for the Universities of Palestine and is a committee member of Free Speech on Israel and of Jewish Voice for Labour.

He will talk for about 30 minutes and then answer questions.

Inner Wheel

AT their April meeting at the Mount Inn, members of the Inner Wheel Club welcomed District 18 chairman, Sandra Morris.

Following a very interesting talk giving an insight into her childhood and route to district chairman, she illustrated her theme for the year - Team Work - with a delightful short film about geese in flight.

A lover of the natural world, her chosen charity is Bees for Development, to which club president Aileen Jones presented a cheque on behalf of members.

Arrangements were made for the forthcoming coffee morning on Saturday, 5 May, at Chatwood, Longbridge Street, 10am-noon, profits from which will be donated to Llanidloes Dial-a-Ride.

A donation of £100 was recently made to 1st Llanidloes Scouts to help towards purchasing new equipment.

The club would like to recruit new members, so anyone interesting in joining and working together to support the local community and those in need further afield, whilst enjoying the fellowship of other members please contact president Aileen Jones on 01686 413111.

The next meeting will be the AGM on Monday, 14 May, 7pm, Mount Inn.
