LLANNOR/EFAILNEWYDD WI met on 12 November at the sports club.

After the business section of the meeting, Jean Coker welcomed speakers Sue Maskell and Jane Williams, from the Soroptimists.

Soroptimist is best interpreted as ‘the best for women’.

The first club was formed in California in 1921, there are now 3,000 clubs throughout the world. They work to transform the lives and status of women and girls and help them reach their full potential.

The local group have been supporting a young woman in Africa through her nursing training, plus working with several local charities.

Jean thanked them for an informative talk.

The raffle winners were Margaret and Pat.

Competition winners were first Doris, second Pam, third Jean.

The tea hostesses were Doris and Margaret.
