LLANNOR/Efailnewydd WI met on 9 October at the Sports Club.

After the business section of the meeting, Jean Coker welcomed the speaker, Colin Evans from Aberdaron.

Colin used to be a lobster fisherman, but now runs the ferry service to Bardsey, transporting visitors, goods and animals.

He had moved 450 lambs off the island on the day he spoke to the group.

His family have been involved with Bardsey for five generations, he spent much of his childhood living there.

Colin is passionate about Bardsey and has recently purchased the lighthouse and buildings from Trinity House; he is hoping to establish a distillery there.

He is very knowledgeable about Bardsey, its history and its wildlife.

His talk was very interesting and amusing.

Joyce B gave the vote of thanks, raffles were won by Jean C, Dilys and Miriam.

Competition winners were Diana, Pam and Dilys.
