Community Council

Llanrhystud Community Council met on 6 June to discuss the correspondence and matters raised by the community.

The new play equipment is in place and maintenance work has been completed in the playing field.

The councillors reported that they had received some positive feedback about the work.

An email was received from a member of the community expressing concerns of the ongoing discussions that the community council has had on attempting to create a safer route to school on the B4337.

The concerns were noted and the clerk asked to reply.

Two residents of Church Street attended the meeting to express their worries of the speed of some motorists using Church Street.

After discussion it was decided to write to the highways department to ask for a 20mph to be imposed on the street and for the neighbourhood police to be alerted of the problem.

The highways department will also be asked to look at the damage caused by tree roots to the road between Tynbeili and Rhosgoch.

Two consultation documents were received and noted – one from Ceredigion County Council on their Corporate Enforcement Policy and one from Hywel Dda on ‘Our Big NHS Change’.

The clerk introduced a draft Privacy Policy which was accepted and will be displayed on the website and the village noticeboard.

There were no observations made of the planning application (A180441) to extend an existing storage shed at Gilfachwen, Llanrhystud.

Permission was given to pay the Football Club £899 for cutting the grass in the playing field for the first half of the year.

A complaint was received that the hedge at the entrance to the playing field (main road end) was overgrown; arrangements will be made to have it cut.

The next meeting is on 11 July (note the change of evening) at 8pm in the Memorial Hall.
