LLANRHYSTUD Community Council met on 4 December to discuss the correspondence and matters raised by the community.

A reply was received from Ceredigion Technical Services which stated that 20mph speed limits would not be considered on the B4337 or on Church Street as there is no evidence of injuries to pedestrians on these streets in the last 10 years.

The Welsh Government is considering introducing 20mph on all lit roads and so the council has placed a moratorium on such changes until that review is completed.

A reply also, from the Technical Services to say that the resurfacing of Church Street to Pengarreg has to be prioritised against other schemes but the road will continue to be inspected and any defects rectified.

A reply was received from the Trunk Road Authority which said no to a temporary 20mph on the junction of school lane with the A487, and any changes to speed limits would be considered when the A487 was due for review.

Speed checks had been carried out on the B4337 on 28 October and on 8 November but no one was caught going over the speed limit.

Cllr Davies had inspected the footpath next to the playing field and had found it to be in good condition but not signposted.

They will ask for a signpost to be erected so that dog walkers and others are aware of the alternative path as dogs are not allowed in the playing field.

Precept arrangements for 2020/21 were discussed and the decision made to ask for the same as last year - a precept of £8,600.

The website provider informed them that the website was not protected by an SSL certificate – this has now been obtained.

There is a report ‘The Biodiversity and Resilience of Ecosystems Duty Report 2016’ on the community council’s website information page.

It has been produced in order to comply with their responsibility under the Environment (Wales) Act 2016 Part 1- Section 6.

The next meeting will be held on 8 January at 7.30pm in the memorial hall.
