Community Council
LLANRHYSTUD Community Council met on 4 October to discuss the correspondence and matters raised by the community.
The county council highways department had replied to the request made last week to say that they had not been able to access funding from the Welsh Government to replace the vehicle activated speed sign on the B4337.
They also said they wouldn’t have resources available to put in place a temporary 20mph zone near the ford on the B4337.
The meeting agreed to the request from the county council to bring their Waste Education Vehicle to the village for a visit.
A donation of £100 was agreed towards the staging of the musical Hairspray by pupils of Aberaeron Comprehensive School.
Aberaeron Improvements Committee has been asked to provide more information about their Mid Ceredigion First Responder Vehicle Appeal.
In response to the concern raised by a member of the community about the speed of traffic through the village the clerk was asked to contact the police to ask them to monitor the speed and to contact the Trunk Road Authority to ask if the 40mph speed limits now in force could be reduced to 30mph.
The next meeting of the community council is on 1 November at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall.
