LLANRHYSTUD Community Council met on 3 January, to discuss the correspondence and matters raised by the community.
A reply from the county council said that it had made a decision some time ago not to provide sat-nav signage on the country road network.
It had installed blue and white advisory signage advising drivers of the unsuitability of several roads in the area including the U1204 in Llanddeiniol where a lorry had become stuck recently.
In response to asking what the speed limit was on the beach road we were told by highways that it was the national speed limit and that there was no reason for it to be changed.
Training on how to use a defibrillator has been arranged with the charity Welsh Hearts for Wednesday, 14 March, in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm.
Everyone is welcome to attend the training and a reminder will be sent out closer to the date.
Requests for donations were received from the Branch of the Welsh Ambulance Service Union and Llangollen International Eisteddfod.
These will be considered in the February meeting at the same time as all the appeals received in 2017 – a reminder to local organisations to contact the clerk if they also wish to be considered.
An annual bill of £1 was received from Tai Ceredigion and from Ceredigion County Council a bill of £150.67 to pay for the energy cost to illuminate streetlights from midnight to 5am.
In order to set a precept for 2018/19 an interim budget was introduced and on its basis, it was decided to ask for a precept of £8,600.
The community asked for the following to be reported to the county council: potholes in Cwm Mabws near to Cefn Mabws, a broken culvert near to Moelifor and a broken panel on the bus shelter opposite to the entrance to Pentre Isaf.
Cllr Rees-Evans reported that he was speaking with highways to try to get the school warning sign moved from its position on school lane to the B4337 near to the footbridge across the ford.
This is also one of the points to be raised with representatives of the County Council at a consultation meeting in January.
The next meeting is on 7 February at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall.
