Clwb Coginio

SPONSORED by Mach Maethlon, the popular Clwb Coginio cooking sessions continued at Machynlleth Bowling Club on 26 October when Pete from the Green Goat Café used a fab veg-bag from Green Isle Growers to create seasonal dishes. The group made the humble but reassuringly tasty homity pie using locally grown squash and leeks, accompanied by a Jerusalem artichoke winter salad. As always, these sessions are free and everyone made welcome.

Edible Mach Maethlon is calling all carpenters. The group is updating every Edible site around the town with some beautifully designed signs from local designer Ian Clewett of Formation Creative.

It’s all part of the new Edible Town Trail. They need to construct some solid frames and posts for these signs to attach to. If you have some carpentry skills and a bit of time to offer, please get in touch by emailing Matt via [email protected]

Cartref Dyfi

Machynlleth and District’s League of Friends have unveiled a special poppy cascade at Cartref Dyfi to commemorate the end of the First World War. Members put together the display with the help of floral demonstrator Ann Parry. Group member Myra Francis said: “Ann Humphreys, the life president, suggested the League of Friends did a poppy display to commemorate the First World War in Cartref Dyfi. She asked the officers to help her and asked Ann Parry, a local floral demonstrator, to advise us. Ann Parry, Ann Humphreys, Ceri Morgan, Glenys Francis, Jane Evans and myself all assisted toward the display. We would like to thank the local Royal British Legion and local businesses who contributed items to help put the display together. It is hoped the residents and visitors at the home will enjoy the display.”
