Remembrance service
The service was held at St David’s Church and was conducted by Rev R Wood, the Nefyn branch chaplin and 14 Nefyn school pupils took a part in the service.
The reading in Welsh was read by Rhian Tyne and Angharad Baum Jones of the Pwllheli Army Cadets Unit, whilst the English reading was done by Alec Dunn and Kellie Stevens of the sea cadets and the army cadets standard bearer was Stephan Roberts.
Service held by the cenotaph with Rev R Wood and Myfanwy J Hughes reading out the names of the fallen.
The wreath on behalf of the Royal British Legion was laid by branch chairman J E Love with wreaths laid by PTE Jordan Davies for the army, SO Sophie Evans for the police, firefighter Andy Lewis on behalf of the fire service, DSO Richard Lewis the coastguard, Angharad Baum Jones the army cadets, Ethan Evans, the sea cadets and finally pupils from Ysgol Nefyn school placed crosses in memory of the fallen.
Headteacher Alan Jones and Year 6 teacher Dylan Roberts were in charge of the pupils. All the pupils and members of the cadets who participated in the service were a credit to their parents, schools and cadet units.
Pensioners Club
A meeting was held on Tuesday, 7 November with Mrs B W Jones in the chair. She welcomed members and sent best wishes to members unable to attend.
The meeting was a birthday tea celebrating the very special birthday of Rhian, a loyal member who has always helped in any way she can at the club.
Year 5 pupils from Ysgol Nefyn school entertained members with a number of songs.
The next meeting will be the trip to Llandudno on 5 December; members should give names to Mrs B W Jones or Mrs E Poole as soon as possible. Any non-members are welcome if there are spare seats.
Ladies Club
The Ladies Club is holding a Christmas Fair on Friday, 24 November at the Nanhoron Hotel Nefyn from 10.30am until noon with various stalls including cakes and produce, tombolas, gifts and raffles. Tickets are £1 including coffee. All proceeds in aid of Macmillan cancer support.
Capel Soar
Fore Sul, 5 Tachwedd, cafwyd gwasanaeth yn nwylo Meinir Pierce Jones a chafwyd hanes rhai a fu ynghlwm gyda Chymorth Cristnogol yn y gorffennol.
Am 5yh cafwyd gwasanaeth gan y Parch Christopher Prew, Porthmadog, ac roedd ganddo bennill oedd yn sôn am eiriau’r Iesu, gwreiddio’r Efengyl yn bwysig, hiraethu am gwmni a chadw cysylltiad â’r Iesu.
Fore Sul, 12 Tachwedd, cynhaliwyd y gwasanaeth gan y Parch Cath Williams, Caernarfon, oedd yn rhoi hanes Y Seintiau yn y Byd.
Yna gyda’r hwyr, cafwyd gwasanaeth gan rai o’r aelodau yn cymryd rhan, sef Ann, Eiriwen, Gwen, Vera a Dan.
