THURSDAY evening’s meeting in the memorial hall was a talk entitled ‘Ron Ffotograffer, The Long Fortnight’ and was presented by Philip and Lindsey Davies, who enthralled members with comical anecdotes and amazing slides in a fascinating insight into the incredible, in every true sense of the word, life and work of Philip’s father, the well loved and nationally famous, wheelchair bound, son of Aberaeron,
Ron Davies MBE. A life long professional photographer, Ron was not one to let a little health and safety stand in the way of a good shot the slides of him hanging in his wheelchair from the tall harbour cranes showed.
It was an evening, thoroughly enjoyed by all. The club will be competing in a ‘Four Way’ Dpi battle, at the bowling club in Carmarthen on 7 March, and the next meeting, in the memorial hall, on 14 March, will be an illustrated talk by ‘Astronomical’ member Viv Evans.
