Walkers

THE Cwmtydu area was the venue for the five-mile circular walk enjoyed by the New Quay Walkers on Saturday, 13 April.

Led by Viv Evans, the group of 15 walkers, accompanied by two dogs, made its way uphill and inland to enter unspoilt woodland in the Afon Boethau valley.

The walkers ambled beside early spring wild flowers and crossed two fast flowing streams to come out at Penbontrhydyboethau.

Some lane walking took them across to the delightful hamlet of Pendderw where they admired the farm buildings tastefully renovated in traditional style into comfortable dwellings.

After lunch the group walked downhill along more wooded footpaths, passing near Cilie and Pen y parc on the way back to Cwmtydu.

The day finished with tea and delicious cakes at the café there.
