Walkers
SATURDAY, 22 July, saw nine walkers assemble in the Poppit Sands car park for a six mile circular walk around Cemaes Head.
Despite an unfavourable forecast, the weather turned out fine after the odd drop of rain early on. The walk began with a stiff climb up the lane to reach a camp site near Allt y Goed and soon afterwards the coast path at Cemaes Head. The scenery by this time was unbelievable with Cardigan Island down below and the coastline stretching north and south as far as the eye could see.
Following lunch near Pwllygranant, the route headed inland along some attractive green paths into Cwm yr Esgair and via a short roadway stretch to the car park at Poppit and a welcome ice cream in the cafe.
The next walk, on Saturday, 19 August, will be at Dinas Island and led by Morlais Davies. Meet in the car park near the Sailors Return at Pwllgwaelod at 10.30am.
