THE latest community news from New Quay

Working 4 New Quay

THE recently formed group, led by county councillor Dan Potter, met for the second time in Penrhiwllan Inn on 11 April.

At the meeting were town councillors, businesspeople and members of the public. Items discussed included the town map, park and flowers, promotion of New Quay on social media, refuse and weeds. The aim of the group is to improve and promote New Quay.

The next meeting will be advertised and anyone with ideas, skills and time to spare will be welcome to attend.

Camera Club

AT Thursday evening’ s meeting, members enjoyed the return visit of talented photographer Roy Peters from Narberth

Roy presented an extraordinary video, with musical soundtrack, of his visit to the spectacularly beautiful scenery and rock formations that are found in the canyons, deserts and national parks of Utah.

Roy also added a shorter audio-visual presentation of a Forties-themed weekend on the Severn Valley Railway.

The next meeting, on 3 May in the Memorial Hall at 7.30pm, will be the four-way print battle between Aberystwyth, Cardigan, Carmarthen and New Quay. The evening will be judged and critiqued by guest judge Ian Ledgard.
