THE latest community news from around Newcastle Emlyn.

U3A

DURING November, Melvin Grey yet again delighted us with his wildlife photography slideshow, but he also explained how and why he has such an interest in photography in the first place.

He has certainly led an interesting and exciting life, visiting many areas of the world. We also realised how much patience he must have to get the fantastic shots that he does.

Next month, on Wednesday, 7 December, we will have our annual Christmas social meeting with quizzes, play readings and a buffet provided by the members.

This will be at the usual time, but will finish at 1pm instead of the usual 12.15pm.

On the same day, the group will be having a stall at the Newcastle Emlyn Victorian night giving out roasted chestnuts and speaking to people about the U3A.

Come and look out for us outside Tivy Hall. In January, the meeting will take place on Wednesday, 4 January, when Kathryn Horton, the HUTS outreach worker, will be talking to us about her work with the charity.

Meetings usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month at 10.30am for 11am at the Community Hall, Church Lane.
