U3A
UNFORTUNATELY the speaker for the October meeting, Mererid Jones, the waste communications officer from Ceredigion Recycling, could not attend as she was poorly.
Therefore, Hazel and John Towle stepped in and organised some information about recycling followed by a quiz on recycling and one on Wales.
Everyone seemed to enjoy the different format to the morning and it created a wealth of discussion about how much we do or do not recycle.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, 1 November, at the community hall where members will be welcoming Rodney Webb who will be teaching them how to Stepdance to Survive!
Meetings usually take place on the first Wednesday of the month at 10.30am for an 11am start at the community hall on Church Lane and usually finish at about 12.15pm.
The U3A is for retired and semi-retired people who want to live, laugh and learn together. Various groups meet during the month including astronomy, strolling, craft, French, German, games, wine appreciation and luncheon club.
The subscription for 2017/18 is £14, but the first meeting is free.
For more information about the group, visit their website at www.u3asites.org/newcastle-emlyn or contact Hazel Towle on 01559 371842.
