Lest We Forget

ONE hundred years ago, “A well-attended concert took place in the Pennal Schoolroom to present Captain Arthur Lascelles, VC, MC, of Penmaendovey, with a token of respect and admiration for the brave deed which won him the VC”. This year, on 9 November, a special concert will again take place as a token of respect for Captain Lascelles, (who returned to the front and was killed four days before the armistice), and the 15 other men from the village who paid with their lives in the war.

The concert will be led by Côr Meibion Bro Dysynni, who will be joined by folk singer Alaw Flur, the children of Ysgol Pennal and by trumpeters from Machynlleth Wind Band.

Tickets are available from Pennal Church, from Glan yr Afon (Riverside) and from Côr Meibion Bro Dysynni.
