THE council was disappointed about the way the audit was conducted this year. They say it was time-consuming and meant extra expense. A certificate of closure was given.
Voice Wales have been approached and various points of complaints have been pointed out to them.
The council has signed another contract to keep the toilets open over the winter at a cost of £1,770 plus VAT. The council in the process of buying the toilets from Cyngor Gwynedd.
The council had expressed concern about the new layout of the road approaching the bridge from the Pennal side and had asked Griffiths Contractors to meet to discuss the issue.
Julian Davies and Mandy Evans came to address the council and explain the plans. Despite a detailed report, there are still great concerns about this turning off the road from Pennal onto the bridge, as it replicates the layout that existed at Dolgellau before the new roundabout was built this year, after many accidents and fatalities.
It was understood that Snowdonia National Park objected to the roundabout because where there is a roundabout, you must have lights and this is because Gwynedd has gained dark sky’s status. It is hoped that this matter could be resolved without having to have an enquiry to save time and money.
