Floral fundraiser
FLORIST Donald Morgan will be demonstrating his expertise at Canolfan Pennal to raise money for farmers in financial hardship.
Donald, who runs Blodau’r Bedol in Llanrhystud, near Aberystwyth, will be showing off his considerable skills at the fundraiser on Wednesday, 11 October.
Proceeds from the evening will go to the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, a farming welfare charity that helps people of all ages in financial difficulty.
RABI has given out grants of more than £168,700 in Wales this year and pays out around £2m every year across Wales and England.
Much of the funding comes from events arranged by the charity’s county committees and the floral demonstration is being organised by volunteers from RABI’s Merionethshire committee.
Linda Jones, RABI regional manager for Wales, said: “We are very proud of the support we have given to farming families in Merionethshire over the years. Many farming families are struggling through no fault of their own because of such things as illness and accidents.”
Mair Rees, Merionethshire county chair, added: “We are incredibly fortunate to have someone of Donald’s calibre ready and willing to pass on some of his amazing skills to us.”
Tickets cost £10 (including cheese and wine) and are available from Annie Parry on 01654 702549.
The demonstration will get underway at 7.30pm.
