Tenovus Cancer Care
WALES’ leading cancer charity, would like to say a huge thank you to its Penparc Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care group, who have raised a fantastic £7,300 over the past 12 months.
The Penparc group has been working tirelessly within their community for over 35 years to raise funds for Tenovus Cancer Care. Their work has helped the charity to maintain many of its support services, including its free Support Line, Mobile Support Units and Sing With Us choirs.
The group have hosted a variety of fundraising events which have included coffee mornings, country and western evenings, bucket collection and their annual Cawl a Chân. The group have also been supported by Hugh Davies who donated £1,500 following his 80th birthday celebrations, and Alfredo Fernandez and Nia Lewis donated £1,500 following their wedding last year.
Verity Cadwallader, regional community fundraising manager, said: “We want to thank our Penparc Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care group for their brilliant fundraising. We also want to thank Mr Davies and Alfredo and Nia for choosing to support the Penparc group, and everyone in the community who attends events and donates money. It helps us to bring treatment, emotional support and practical advice to where it matters most; the heart of the community. Without groups like Penparc Friends of Tenovus Cancer Care, we wouldn’t be able to all that we do.”
