Senior Citizens
THEY had their last meeting of Penparcau Senior Citizens Social Club on Tuesday, 25 July.
They were entertained by harpist Eleri Turner, who played some beautiful traditional Welsh music.
They also had their summer raffle.
There were numerous prizes which had been given by members, this was followed by a beautiful buffet provided by Chives, Eleri an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
The seniors have had some wonderful and entertaining afternoons.
They had a representative from the local Fire Brigade who spoke about home safety and Prudence Bell came to talk about her book, ‘The Black Tin Box’ and her visit to China.
Various speakers have been to talk about various topics.
They had John Dollery from the Royal Commission, and spoke about Pen Dinas, a very interesting talk about a local landmark.
They have also had choirs come and entertain, all different and enjoyable.
They also paid a visit to Nant yr Arian, although it was a misty day the members were able to see the feeding of the Kites when the mist cleared, an enjoyable afternoon was had by all.
They have hot meals on the last Tuesday of the month, provided by Mike at the Chip Box, Penparcau.
The seniors meet every other Tuesday at the Neuadd Goffa, from 2pm –till 4pm.
They have quite a few members in theyr club and would warmly welcome new members.
The next meeting is on Tuesday, 5 September, at 2pm.
