Art Club
The club enjoyed a workshop evening of colograph printing with Jude Macklin on 17 October. Those who attended are asked to keep their Japanese vinyl for a Colograph evening in the spring.
The two hours at art club is not always enough time to complete things, so members were thanked for finishing off the Christmas display for Ysbyty Cynfyn Church at home. Jane asked them to bring their contributions to the church tableaux by the second Wednesday in November.
The first meeting in November was on 7 November, followed by another on 14 November, when Jane will have all the materials needed to make a special Christmas Card – just turn up and enjoy the evening.
On 21 November, there will be a workshop with tutor Karen Pearce when members will be building a picture with soft pastels.
Karen is going to use the theme ‘Autumn’ for her pastel evening. Soft pastels/chalk pastels and pastel paper will be provided.
Karen has photographs of autumn trees and she will take members through the composition and building up of the picture.
It may not be possible to finish your picture but you will know enough to finish at home.
Sounds like a good evening, but be aware that pastels can be a bit messy.
Winter is certainly on its way, and Karen’s workshop will be the last art evening for 2018.
Members have had a very enjoyable year and can all look forward to starting again in March with another art-packed programme.
