Music successes

The following were successful in the recent Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music examinations - Theory: Grade 1: Mari Herberts, Pontrhydfendigaid (Distinction) and Isabella Braddick, Pant-y-Crug (Distinction). Grade 3: Gwenno Humphreys, Gwnnws (Merit) and Jessica Kemp, Swyddffynnon. Grade 5: Rhiannon Jones, Gwnnws (Distiction). Piano: Preparatory Test: Gwenno Fflur Evans, Ystrad Meurig and Lois Davies, Tregaron. Grade 1: Dafydd Bennett, Tregaron, Delun Davies, Pontrhydfendigaid and Ifan Williams, Tregaron. Grade 2: Isabella Braddick, Pant-y-crug. Grade 3: Megan Herberts, Pontrhydfendigaid and Elin Williams, Tregaron. Grade 5: Zara Evans, Tregaron and Gwenno Humphreys, Gwnnws.

Picnic afternoon

The community’s annual picnic and socialising afternoon will be held at Pantyfedwen Hall on Saturday, 4 August, at 3pm.

The competition for the best dressed picnic table will be on the theme ‘Tea to celebrate the end of the First World War’, and the competition for the children will be to create a poppy. Bring your own food and drink, and a warm welcome is extended to all.
