Cronfa Leol Eisteddfod 2020

BYDD cyfarfod o bwyllgor Cronfa Leol Ystrad Fflur ac Ystrad Meurig Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Ceredigion 2020 yn cael ei gynnal yn Ysfafell Chwaraeon Neuadd Pantyfedwen nos Iau, 18 Gorffennaf am 7.30yh. Croeso cynnes i bawb.

School

YSGOL Gynradd Pontrhydfendigaid will be holding its summer fun gig at Pantyfedwen Hall on Wednesday, 17 July at 6pm, with entertainment by the Welsh Whisperer and school pupils joining him on stage with a song especially written by them in his company at school during the day.

There will also be stalls and barbecue.

Admission will be £5 for adults, £3 for secondary school children and primary school children admitted free.

Picnic y Pentre

CYNHELIR y picnic blynyddol yn Neuadd Pantyfedwen ar ddydd Sadwrn, 3 Awst.

Thema’r dydd fydd ‘Te-parti Sali Mali’, a’r gystadleuaeth fydd creu picnic i ddathlu pen-blwydd Sali Mali yn 50 oed.

Y gystadleuaeth i’r plant eleni fydd dylunio cerdyn pen-blwydd i Sali Mali.

Y llywyddion a’r beirniaid fydd Dafydd Jones a Mererid Jones.

Bydd y neuadd ar agor ar gyfer gosod y byrddau picnic am 3yp, gyda’r beirniadu’n digwydd am 4yp.

Croeso cynnes i bawb, gyda mynediad am ddim.

Carnival

THE carnival was held on Saturday, 13 July at the Pavilion. The competing was of a very high standard with numerous competitors taking part in all classes.

The president for the day was Jane Edwards, Pont Henry (formerly of Tanrhydiau).

She was accompanied by her partner, Conrad, and they spent an enjoyable afternoon judging all the classes.

The MC was Selwyn Jones, and he introduced Jane and welcomed her back to Bont. Jane made an interesting speech, and was presented with a bouquet by Megan Herberts, retiring carnival Queen and crowned the carnival Queen for 2019, Mari Herberts. The queen and her attendants Iestyn Jenkins, Sara Pugh, Emily Smith-Jones and Steffan Willcocks looked beautiful on their decorated float, and were presented with gifts on behalf of the carnival committee by Jane Edwards, the president of the day. Jên Ebenezer thanked everyone on behalf of the carnival committee.

The winner for designing a cover for the carnival programme was Alfie Houghton.

The raffle was drawn, and the winners were: Anni Ebenezer, Gough Family, Cat Miles-Evans, Huw Herberts, Wynne Ebenezer, Martha Thomas, Jane Edwards, John Davies, Alana Hughes, Diane Davies, Alun Humphreys, Steffan Willcocks, Carys Davies, S Jones and Non Jones.

After the carnival competitions, tea and refreshments were enjoyed, followed by welly wanging, bucking bronco, bouncy castle and disco.
