Coed y Bont

ONE of the most popular events in the Coed y Bond calendar takes place on Saturday afternoon, 21 October: the annual Fungi Foray.

During a stroll through the ancient woodland in the company of expert Penny David we will discover the weird and wonderful fungi that grow in Coed y Bont.

The paths may be muddy and wet in places so make sure to wear suitable footwear and appropriate clothing for the weather. Meet at the woodland car park at 2pm.

In case of uncertainties about the event due to bad weather contact 01974 299166 before 1noon.

The following day on Sunday, 22 October, there will be the monthly volunteer session at Coed y Bont. The plan will be to do some more improvements to the paths in the Coed Cnwch part of the woodland, including finishing off the work we started last time, together with some of the other jobs that we think need doing.

They are always looking for volunteers to help with these sessions so everyone is welcome to come along.

The sessions last for about two hours.

Enjoying healthy exercise in the fresh air in good company, whilst learning about the woodland and doing something useful for the community at the same time is a great way to pass the time!
