A Journey to the Stars

AN unusual presentation will be made at the Penamser Road chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Friday, 31 March, at 7pm.Using pictures from the Hubble and other telescopes, the talk will deal with the relationship between the stars and planets and scripture.David and Joyce Brown, visiting speakers from Wakefield, Yorkshire, will present their material to the audience following simi-lar presentations across the UK, which have received very positive reviews.“We have a basic approach in scripture,” said Mr Brown. “In Psalms we read: ‘The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament showeth His handiwork.’ This talk is aimed at illustrating just what that handiwork provided.”The talk will last about an hour, with time for questions. Members of the public will be very welcome. The chapel is reached by approaching Travelodge, then turning left, and is found in the first building on the left. There is plenty of car parking space.
