THE first meeting after the summer break was on the afternoon of Tuesday, 4 September, at the Fron Goch Garden Centre.

Members made their way to Fron Goch at a time to suit themselves to have plenty of time to look around, but at 2.30pm they assembled in the Bluebell Room for a talk and demonstration by a member of staff, Melanie Livingston.

Mel gave a very interesting demonstration of planting plants in pots and containers suitable for the winter months.

The displays she made up were beautiful and she gave advice and answered any questions.

The business part of the meeting then took place chaired by the president, Daphne Jones.

Details for the pilates sessions were finalised and leaflets concerning the ‘craft meetings’ were distributed to the members.

The members then partook of a tasty cream tea served by the restaurant staff.

The raffle was given by Daphne and won by Dilys Williams.

The next meeting on Tuesday, 2 October, will be at 7pm at the Ala Road Chapel Vestry where there will be a talk on guide dogs by Jackie Hughes-Jones.
