MEMBERS were welcomed to a meeting of the evening branch on Tuesday, 7 February, by the president Elinor Rhys Williams. She also welcomed and introduced the guest speaker, Sioned Williams of St David’s Hospice, Llandudno.Mrs Williams organises the St David’s Hospice charity shop in Pwllheli High Street and is also the development officer for the charity in the Dwyfor area.In an enlightening talk she said that due to the distance between Pwllheli and the Hospice at Llandudno, the level of support for patients and their families in the Dwyfor area needs to be increased.She also stressed the importance of fundraising so that funds could be channelled into the Dwyfor area.Members were shown an interesting and informative film and Mrs Williams, and finished by answering questions.She was thanked by Daphne Jones.The tea hostess was Sylvia Williams aided by other members and the raffle prize given by Maureen Jones was won by Joyce Griffith.The business part of the meeting followed with matters arising discussed. The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 7 March, commencing at 7pm in the Ala Road Chapel Vestry when the guest speaker will be Mrs Owen of ‘Ty Siocled’, Caernarfon. New members always welcomed.
