Ala Road

THE Easter morning worship at the English Presbyterian church, Ala Road, will be led by the minister, Rev W Bryn Wiliams. The service starts at 11.15am and a warm welcome is extended to all. A united Easter service will be held at Penlan Chapel at 5pm. The address will be given by the Rev Dewi Morris, Porthmadog and the collection will go to Christian Aid.

YNG nghyfarfod olaf y tymor o Glwb y Bont treuliwyd peth amser yn delio â materion busnes gyda Victor Jones yn y gadair. Etholwyd Eric Roberts yn llyw-ydd am y flwyddyn ac Alun Jones yn is-lywydd gyda gweddill y swyddogion a’r pwyllgor yn dal eu swyddi. Cyflwynwyd adroddiad ariannol boddhaol gan y tryso-rydd, T Alun Williams.Am weddill y noson cafwyd sg-wrs ddifyr dros ben gan y llywydd presennol, Mici Plwm. Allan o gist dderw hardd tyn-nodd nifer o amrywiol eitemau oedd yn adlewyrchu ei hanes teu-luol yn ogystal a’i deithiau i bed-war ban byd gyda stori ynghlwm a phob un.

PRESIDENT Elinor Rhys Williams welcomed and introduced guest speakers Ursula Whitehouse and Sara Roberts to a meeting of the branch on Tuesday, 4 April. Both are representatives of the Pwllheli Food Bank,which is based at St Peter’s Church. Mrs Whitehouse is treasurer and co-ordinator of the Food Bank along with Daphne Chalk.After answering questions submitted by the members the speakers were thanked by Dilys Williams.Refreshments were then served by Joyce Griffith and Winnie Jones and the raffle prize, given by Lydia Jones, was won by Olwen Davies. The business part of the meeting followed and matters arising were discussed.The next meeting will be on Tuesday, 2 May at the Ala Road Chapel vestry at 7pm when a WI adviser will be present to discuss the Resolutions to be submitted at the WI annual meeting held in Liverpool in June.
