Local artists, local scenes

A sale of artworks, predominantly of local scenes and by local artists, from a private collection, is being held in Tregaron during the month of June.

The proceeds of the sale will go towards the Glasfryn project – the conversion of a property into a store for MOMA Machynlleth’s ever growing Tabernacle Collection.

The works are available for viewing and sale at Y Talbot.

Clwb Cerdded

The next walk, Two Rivers and the Sea with Devil’s Bridge Walking Club is scheduled for 14 July and has been organised by Catrin and Debbie (07966 454 117).

A circular route from Llanerchaeron to Aberarth, then the coastal path to Aberaeron, returning along the River Aeron to Llanerchaeron for refreshments at the café.

We leave the car park over the bridge with a steady incline for approximately a mile where we proceed to Aberarth church with spectacular views north of the coastline (on a clear day).

We then descend down through the graveyard into Aberarth and join the coastal path into Aberaeron.

We then follow the river Aeron back towards Llanerchaeron. Some sections are muddy and wet underfoot.

The walk is to last approximately 4.5 hours and is graded a moderate walk which covers 7.5 miles with an ascent of 243m/800ft. Meet outside Y Talbot, Tregaron, at 9.15 m or Llanerchaeron National Trust car part at 10am.

The service on Sunday, 24 June will be held in the Memorial Hall, led by the Rev David Whitehouse and beginning at 2.30pm.

Angling Association

Cymdeithas Pysgota Tregaron Angling Association is holding an open evening on the 27 June at 7.30pm in the Rugby Club.

There will be a light buffet and an opportunity to see an old film of Tregaron Angling. There will also be a discussion on the future of the club.

This will be a great time to meet members and the committee of the club and also catch up with this season’s news. A warm welcome to all.
