Royal British Legion, Ladies Section

AT the annual general meeting, after the exhortation was read and a silent tribute was observed, president Ann Jones welcomed all members.

The guest speaker for the evening was Elizabeth Cameron. She gave an interesting talk and showed memorabilia from her father’s experience during the First World War.

The remembrance service was well attended at the Memorial Hall, during which the standard was laid at the end of the service and then taken to St Caron’s Church for safe keeping.

The annual farewell dinner was held at the Halfway Inn, Pisgah. An excellent meal was prepared and to make it a special mystery afternoon, a scenic route of the Rheidol Valley completed a memorable day.

The group gave their thanks to the local Spar at Tregaron for their generous donation towards the raffle prizes.

After a long period of time, with regret, the women’s section of the British Legion has come to an end after many years of loyal service.
