Clwb Cerdded

THE next walk is scheduled for 8 October and is called ‘Ceredigion Coastal Path’. This walk will start at Aberporth and end at Cwmtydu, stopping for lunch at Llangrannog.

Chalet-land (leavened by a “spot the converted railway carriage” game) soon gives way to a beautiful variety of cliff-tops, coastal fields, sandy bays, secluded valleys and woods. Bring binoculars in the hope of seeing some marine wildlife.

The route has several steep ascents and descents, including rough steps, and ends with a long climb which follows a path cut into the cliff-side. This is a linear walk, so a car shuttle arrangement will be made on the day.

The walk is graded a C (hard) and should last between five and six hours over a distance of 10.3 miles with an ascent of 550m. The meeting point is outside Y Talbot at 9am. The leader is Rod Turner (01974 298237).
