Clwb Cinio

OUR entertainment for the lunch on Wednesday, 23 November, at Y Talbot was provided by Donald Morgan.

He told us of his experiences at the Chelsea Flower Show where he and seven other NAFAS demonstrations exhibited for the first time.

Their display won a Gold Medal and came very close to winning the Best in Show exhibit. Donald produced three excellent arrangements for Christmas, which were raffled.

Christmas Fair

TREGARON Christmas Fair will be held in the Memorial Hall from 2pm until 8pm on Friday, 2 December.

The hall will be full of craft stands, refreshments, Santas Grotto (4.15pm to 7pm), Côr Caron singing carols from 7.15pm, fun Santa run at 7.40pm and the turning on of the town lights at 7.45 in partnership with Tregaron Town Council.

Clwb Cerdded Tregaron Walking Club

THE next walk is scheduled for 26 December and is called ‘Tackle the turkey trek’.

This is one of the club’s annual walks that brings people of all ages together for a festive footpath foray during the Christmas period.

This was the club’s first walk back in 2003 that attracted 90 walkers on that cold day. Make the most of the opportunity to meet new and old friends whilst taking in the great views the walk affords.

Our faithful toy turkey Terwyn will join us too, the last turkey to be sold by Woolworths in December 2008. A warm welcome awaits you on your return to Y Talbot.

The walk is graded a grade B – Moderate walk which should last approximately three hours and is over a distance of five miles with an Ascent of 380m and the leader is Dafydd Wyn Morgan 01974 298 150. Meeting place is outside the Talbot at 10.30am.

Ysgol Henry Richard

Ysgol Henry Richard Year 9 Welsh public speaking team (Hedd Dafydd, Siwan George and Daniel Owen) were successful in the recent Rotary International competition.

Following their presentation in the West Wales round they were chosen as one of four teams to represent the area in the next round. The final was held at the Welsh Assembly building in Cardiff where the team, (the youngest in the competition), came third out of 20 teams and received high praise from the adjudicators and organisers.
