THE next walk is scheduled for 9 December and has been organised by Avarinah Davies (01974 298259).

This will be a walk about the Legend of The Elephant Tregaron.

Tregaron has many myths and legends, among them this well-known legend that surrounds the town.

In 1848 a circus visited the town and with it an elephant of the story is recorded in the media of the time.

The walk itself starts at the location where the elephant was given the fateful trunkful of water.

The walk starts from outside Y Talbot at 10am and is to last approximately four hours. It is graded a moderate walk with an ascent of 650ft (200m).
