Hearing aid clinic
THE next walk-in session of the Volunteer Hearing Aid Clinic will be held on Thursday, 2 August, at the usual venue of the Baptist Church, High Street.
If your hearing aid requires a service, new tubing or just new batteries, do go along. There is no need to make an appointment; it will be open from 10am to noon.
Garden club
THE club met in the Baptist Church for the AGM on Tuesday evening, 8 May, where chairman Margaret Evans opened the meeting.
Funds of £100 were given to Tywyn Council towards the town’s summer flower arrangements.
Money has been given to charities during the year thanks to various guest speakers.
The chairman gave her report and thanked all who had contributed in any way to the smooth running of the year’s activities, and in particular to the secretary for finding good speakers.
The present officers and the committee were re-elected en bloc.
A short business meeting followed, when the group discussed outings and the floral train. They finished the evening with a shared supper and social.
On Thursday, 7 June, a 59-seater coach left Tywyn at 9.30am for the annual outing to Bodnant.
Then on Tuesday, 3 July, a few members went by car to Abbey Cwm Hir for a tour of the hall and gardens.
The next event is the Floral Train, which leaves Tywyn Wharf Station on Tuesday, 14 August, at 7.30pm.
The Dysynni Male Voice Choir will entertain at Abergynolwyn Station.
Members will return to Tywyn Wharf Station at 10.05pm.
A reminder for those who have promised to help with decorations for the train that the group will meet on Tuesday, 14 August, at 10 Ar y Don at 10am.
The club will then meet at the Baptist Church on Tuesday, 9 October, at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start.
