LINDA Jones from the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution kindly agreed to speak about her work to The Rotary Club on 7 March.

RABI is a nationwide welfare charity that helps farming people in financial difficulty. The organisation gives confidential support to farming families with practical advice ranging from help with training, business appraisals and benefit applications to help following illness, accident, natural disaster or disability.

The organisation was founded in 1860 and has helped a large number of farming families with a total of over £2.2 million in grants. In 2019 alone, RABI provided help to the value of £124,260.

Linda stressed that due to the uncertainty of the current political climate, the next few years could see many more applications for help from struggling farming communities.

On behalf of The Rotary Club, president Nancy Clarke expressed her thanks to Linda for her excellent presentation about this very important charity. As is the custom with all our speakers, Nancy presented Linda with a cheque for £100 for the benefit of RABI Wales.
