Stroke Awareness Day

THE Rotary Club of Tywyn in association with Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland and the Stroke Association, held a stroke awareness day on Saturday, at the Baptist Church.

Residents and visitors were invited to have a free blood pressure check and consultation with the medical team who also offered advice on ways to reduce the risk of having a stroke.

The medical team offered advice and measured the blood pressure of 75 people followed by tea, coffee and biscuits.

High blood pressure remains the single biggest risk factor for stroke, contributing to over half of strokes in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

The Rotary Club of Tywyn was proud to have provided a service to help people to reduce the risk of stroke.

The club would also like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at the Tywyn Baptist Church for allowing the club to use of the church foyer and for providing everyone involved with valuable help and refreshments.
