Hospital appeal
THERE was a good attendance at the AGM of the Tywyn and District Memorial Hospital Appeal Fund on 14 May.
The treasurer presented a healthy balance on the accounts.
There was only one resignation from the committee, namely Ann Farrell. Cllr John Pugh was elected in her place. It was proposed and seconded that the officials remain the same, namely chair Cllr Anne Lloyd, Jones, vice chair Cllr. Alun Wyn Evans, treasurer Christine Hughes and secretary Barbara P Jones.
The main items on the agenda were requests for equipment from the staff at the hospital. It was agreed to purchase the following items: digital camera this item is outstanding from last year’s requests; a stroke chair, bladder scanner and an ECG machine.
Nia Williams, the partnership support officer from Betsi Cadwaldr University Health Board Trust explained how her role was to work with organisations such as this, and various Leagues of Friends attached to the hospitals in North Wales.
There was some discussion about assisting at a future date with making a sensory garden in a small plot of land outside the ward. It was felt that an area such as this would be beneficial to many patients.
