Work experience

YEAR 10 pupils at Ysgol Uwchradd Tywyn have been out in the workplace, with 49 businesses across North Wales taking part in this year’s work experience week.

Once again Talyllyn Railway was extremely supportive by taking on nine students, who experienced a huge variety of jobs from electric welding, fitting, drilling, track work, cooking, translating, being ‘secret shoppers’ to even having to do some maths.

All pupils were full of enthusiasm and it was great to hear them all being praised. Headteacher Helen Lewis said: “Work experience week has certainly proved worthwhile and very successful this year, with pupils being given the opportunity to test out possible careers, and decide if it is - or even isn’t - what they want to do in the future.

Thank you to all those pupils who worked hard – you did us and yourselves proud.”
