Angel Light
A CHARITY concert is to be held this Saturday to raise money for local teenager, Elisha Carter.
17-year-old Elisha is battling cancer and a night of music is being organised by the Angel Light, Christian Spiritualist Group, to help raise money for her.
Local band, Revival, will perform in the scouts hut (behind Tywyn library) at 7pm.
Taith Cerdded

Roedd y ddau yn cerdded y daith y byddai Sant Cadfan wedi ei cherdded o Dywyn i Ynys Enlli.
Aeth disgyblion Cyfnod Allweddol 2 gyda nhw i ddechrau y daith, yn ogystal a’i wraig Lucy, a’i ferched Emily a Zoe, sy’n ddisgyblion yn yr ysgol.
Maent yn codi arian ar gyfer elusen Jeans for Genes a Chymdeithas Rhieni ac Athrawon Ysgol Penybryn. Cyn y daith roeddynt wedi casglu £1,500.
NSPCC
HUNDREDS of pounds have been raised at a charity do in Tywyn.
At the start of the month, the Tywyn branch of the NSPCC held a coffee morning in the town’s Baptist Church raising £220 for the children’s charity.
The chair of the group Jennie Tinsley has thanked the committee for their work, the church for allowing us to use their facilities, and all those who turned up to enjoy the home baked cakes and coffee. Many were also able to pick up a bargain on the nearly new stall.
The next event will be a Skittles night at the Neptune Club on Saturday, 19 November.
Garden club
DURING the summer there was a successful outing to Dorothy and Clive’s Garden and in conjunction with the Talyllyn railway, the Floral train ran one August evening. The train was decorated by club members and entertainment was provided by the Dysynni Male voice choir.
Meetings recommence on Tuesday, 11 October, 7.30pm at Tywyn Baptist Church.”Gardening for Wildlife” will be presented by Vicky Bamford.
Annual membership will be due; so please allow ample time in order to pay your subscription. Visitors and new members are always welcome.
Hearing Aid Volunteer Service Clinic
THE next walk-in clinic will be held on Thursday, 6 October, from 10am until noon in the usual venue, Tywyn Baptist Church, opposite the Post Office on the High Street in Tywyn. If you think your hearing aid needs attention, come along, no appointment necessary.
Bowling club
AS September draws to a close so do the regular social activities of the Tywyn Bowling Club although they still have the Annual dinner to look forward to in October.
After an enjoyable season the finals were played earlier in the month, with final results as follows. Rose Bowl Trophy was won by Ron Medhurst with the runner up B Hoadley.
Veterans’ singles champion for this season is Roger Starling and the runner up E Price. Mixed Doubles were this season won by R Starling and J Price with L Lockett and R Medhurst as runners up.
The Open Handicap competition was won by R Starling, with L Lockett runner up. The Triples was won by L Lockett, P Hoadley and S Allen and the runners up team consisted of C Brand, A Furneaux and R Medhurst.
The Veterans Doubles’ title was taken by W P Collins and J Price with L Evans and E Hall as runners up. Men’s Singles winner was Roger Starling and runner up was A Furneaux. Finally, the winner of the Open competition was C Brand with R Starling as runners up.
The club is hopefully going to be actively recruiting new members for 2017 and it is not too early to let us know that you would like to join us next season.
