Remembrance Sunday

THIS year the parade will take the same format as last year, although, sadly, the band will not be able to lead the march due to unavoidable circumstances.

The parade will muster at Bryn Paderau at 10.15am for the usual short service and wreath laying at 10.2 am.

At 10.30am the parade will form up at Bryn Paderau for the march to St Cadfan’s Church. The route being: along Bryn Hyfred, then turning right into Neptune Road and along College Green to St Cadfan’s.

After the service at St Cadfan’s the parade will assemble at College Green and march to the Neuadd Pendre for a reception for all Legion members, all who paraded, any member of the congregation and any other ex-servicemen and women and anyone else who shares the aims of the Legion. Any profit from the reception will go towards the Poppy Appeal.

The wreath-laying at the War Memorial Hospital will take place on Remembrance Day itself (Saturday, 11 November) at 11.30am after the two minutes silence in High Street at 11am.

There will be a rehearsal at St Cadfan’s Church on Friday, 10 November, at 6pm.

All Standard Bearers and Wreath Layers of the various associations should attend.

The same wreaths as last year have been ordered and may be collected from JB Owens Shop during opening hours, the minimum donation for these is £25.

Any further details may be obtained from the Parade Marshall (Ian Garbutt) 01654 711032.

The Poppy appeal will be launched on 26 October, and we look forward to the same support we received last when about £6,000 was raised in Tywyn and District.

The annual general meeting of the Branch will be held in the Ex-servicemen’s Club at 7.30pm on Tuesday, 14 November.

All members are urged to attend.
