Cooler weather saw 136 runners enter the 5k race which took them on two laps of the course across the picturesque Poppit Sands, writes Stuart Ladd.

The overall winner and first male was local Cardigan Running Club member David Cole who crossed the finish line in 17 minutes 42 seconds and in doing so completed a notable hat-trick of wins in this year's summer series.

Ollie George came in second in 18 minutes 26 seconds Ioan Vale in third in 18 minutes 38 seconds.

First female was Layla Omar-Davies in a time of 20 minutes 57 second, with Hannah Knight in second in 24 minutes 3 seconds and Izzy Colman third in 24 minutes 17 seconds.

98 young runners took part in the junior 2k race, with Will Evans being the overall race winner in a time of 8 minutes 7 seconds and Betty Lancaster taking the first girl spot in a time of 8 minutes 38 seconds.
